MUTA appoints two new auditors

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Ollie Newin and John Thomson as MUTA’s new health and safety auditors.

Ollie brings over thirty years experience in the temporary structure industry, managing events all of the UK and overseas. Oliver worked for some of the UK’s most well-known temporary structure hirers, before setting up a consultancy and event management service fifteen years ago.

Since then, Ollie has worked on events and projects for Goodwood Estate, Silverstone Circuit and Parliament to name a few.

Ollie said: “Having been associated with MUTA for some 30 years, it’s with great pleasure that I take on this role of MUTA auditor. I hope that I can share my experiences in the events industry over the last few decades, and assist members with their working practices. I’ll be hitting the road to visit members across the country over the coming months. Seeing old friends, and making new ones along the way.”

John Thomson will also be joining the team. John boasts a wealth of experience too.

Having acquired a number of health and safety and event management qualifications, John provided freelance services for high profile events including Birmingham Commonwealth Games, COP26 Glasgow and shows at Murrayfield Stadium.

John said: “I’m really looking forward to getting started, and working alongside the MUTA exec, to ensure we are helping and delivering for MUTA members. I’ve been a involved with MUTA for many years, and look forward to making a contribution to making our industry better.”

MUTA president Lee Dalton stated: “We are excited to welcome Ollie and John to the team. Their combined expertise and experience will enhance the service for members and help expand capacity and coverage.”

MUTA’s audit regime is designed to ensure that all hirer members adhere to safety, quality, and compliance standards expected.
